What can Bull Run TCG do?
Bull Run TCG is a phone app that scans your trading cards, prices your collection every day, and tells you which cards look like a buy, a hold, a sell or worth grading. Each guide below answers one question.
- How do I scan trading cards and get the exact variant?
Lay the card flat on a plain surface in soft, even light, fill the frame with it, and let a card scanner match the photo to the right card. The card itself is usually easy; the exact printing (Normal, Holofoil, Reverse Holofoil, 1st Edition, Foil) is the hard part, so check the finish and the small print on the card before you trust a price. In Bull Run you tap Scan, pick Quality, Fast or Page mode, and each scan shows the matched card with a printing button you can tap to fix. Only Quality checks the printing; Fast and Page find the card but leave the printing for you to pick.
- Can I scan a whole binder page at once?
Yes. Some card scanners can read a full 9-pocket binder page from one photo and pick out each card in its pocket. In Bull Run, switch the scanner to Page mode, fit the whole page in the frame, tap the shutter, then turn the page and tap again. Each page becomes one row you can open to check its nine pockets, and the cards can be saved into the matching pockets of a binder in the app.
- Is my card worth grading?
A card is usually worth grading only when its likely graded value, minus the grading fee and shipping, comes out well above what the raw card is worth today. That depends on two things: the grade it would probably get, and real recent prices for that grade. Bull Run estimates a likely grade from your photos and works out the expected profit or loss after costs, as an estimate, not a guarantee.
- Is a booster box worth opening?
Usually only if you enjoy opening it: for most sets, the cards in a typical box are worth less than the box costs, and the average is pulled up by a few rare big hits that most boxes never contain. Expected value means the average worth of the cards across a great many boxes, based on how often each rarity shows up. Bull Run's The Chase shows that average, the typical box, and how many boxes in 100 beat the price you would pay, for the sets it covers.
- How do I find underpriced cards on eBay?
Know what the card really sells for first, then compare each listing's price plus shipping against that value, and only count a listing as a deal once you are sure it is the same card, printing and condition. A listing that looks far too cheap is usually a fake, a different printing or a damaged copy. In Bull Run, Deal Finder searches live eBay listings for a card, pack or box and labels each one from Great Deal to Overpriced against its market value.
- How do I trade cards with friends?
Agree on what each person gives, check that both sides are worth about the same using current market prices for the exact printing and condition, and swap only once you both agree. In Bull Run you add a friend by scanning their QR code or entering their friend code, then trade in person by tapping phones together, or send a trade that both of you confirm.
- How do I track the profit on my card collection?
Record what each card cost you, or what it was worth when you got it, then compare that with today's market value; the difference is your profit or loss. When you sell, record the sale price so the gain becomes real rather than estimated. Bull Run does this for you, showing profit and loss for your whole collection, each game and set, and each card.
- How do I import my collection from Collectr, CollX or TCGplayer?
Export your collection from the app you use now as a CSV file, then load that file into the new app, which reads the card name, set, number, printing, condition, quantity and price paid from its columns. Cards that cannot be matched with confidence should be checked by hand rather than guessed. In Bull Run you tap Import Collection, pick the CSV, and review anything that did not match.
- How do I get alerts when a card's price changes?
Pick the cards you care about, decide on a target price for each, and use a tool that checks prices regularly and tells you when one rises above or drops below your target. A watch list helps you follow cards you do not own yet. In Bull Run you tap the bell on any card's page to set a buy or sell alert, and add cards to your Watchlist to keep an eye on them.
- How do I organize my collection by binder and box?
Give each binder, box and shelf its own place, then put every card in one of them, either as you add it or in a batch later. Bull Run lets you set up binders with pages and pockets and boxes with rows and dividers, so each card page shows exactly where that copy lives and a pull list can walk you to it.
- How do I see which of my cards fit a deck?
In Bull Run, create a deck for Magic, Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh and tap Add from collection: the app lists only the cards you own that are not already in another deck and that fit the deck's format and, for Magic, its colours. A Deck stats panel then checks size, legality and balance, so you can plan a deck before pulling a single card.
- Which cards are going up right now?
The cards going up right now are the ones whose price has climbed for about two months and is still climbing this month, not just one that jumped once. Bull Run checks every priced card each night and marks those as Buy or Strong Buy, which is an estimate based on past prices, not a promise the climb will keep going.
- Can AI answer questions about my card collection?
Yes. Ask Bull Run is an AI chat inside the Bull Run app that answers plain-language questions using your own collection and the app's market data, such as what your cards are worth, what is moving, what might be worth grading or where a card is stored. A weekly digest also sums up your collection and the market once a week.
